Kathy:
I shared a shop in California many years ago and have had my dresses sold from
shops in Manchester, Vermont and Garden City, New York, but my true workshop has always been my home. My husband and children
have always had to share our home with my fabrics, threads, patterns, sewing machines, sergers and of course, dresses, rompers,
gowns, etc. I am presently living outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
I am the Mother of six children (three Daughters and three Sons) and at this time,
Grandmother to four beautiful Granddaughters and an adorable Grandson. I have been married 41 years to a wonderful Pediatrican
and have lived in New York, California, Vermont and now Georgia.
I have been greatly influenced by my Mother who was a New England artist with a
love for antiques. Her interests were Early American Metalwork, golf leaf painting and furniture/antique restoration. My Brother
and I grew up in a home surrounded by antiques and a love of the past. My Brother, also an artist, has developed a business
restoring early paintings, furniture and houses.
I have always loved working with fabrics and making children's clothing. As my
children were born, I made them First Communion dresses, and many special occasion dresses and little boys suits. As time
went on, I started designing my own embroidery work. Having had my own shop in California, and selling my heirloom gowns in
Vermont and Long Island, I now feel, with all of our travels, that the internet is the best media to showcase my work. I hope
you will enjoy it.

Maureen:
Since my children were babies, I have sewn for a living.
I started sewing when I was 12 and started making most of my clothes and sewing for others shortly thereafter. Discovering sewing was for me, like opening a door that changed my life completely. The custom clothing that I have designed and made includes: heirloom wedding gowns,
heirloom children's clothing and adult custom clothing. I had the experience
of running a sewing factory for a year and then went into the work force as a bookkeeper for several years while always sewing
on the side.
For the love of nature and the beautiful outdoors my husband and I have moved to Sandpoint,
in the awesome Idaho panhandle, which has given me the luxury of working at home exclusively.
This is a true delight for me, as dressmaking and sewing is what I live for. I
have a great love of the outdoors and often help my husband with his land surveying business.
I am thrilled to be working closely with Kathy, who has been my best friend for over 28 years.
Even thought we haven’t always lived in the same area, we visit each other several times a year and have exclusive sewing
retreats!!!
My Family:
I am the Mother of five children (two Daughters and three Sons) and, at this
time, Grandmother to six beautful Granddaughters and two adorable Grandsons. I met my wonderful Husband four years ago
and my life has been forever changed.
My husband is a Land Surveryor and while working with him surveying in the beautiful
Idaho Panhandle, we have the privilege of enjoying Idaho lakes, mountains and forests. My love, of course, is sewing so when
Kathy asked me to join her site and do what we both love, I was thrilled.
